It was a tale of 2 totally different semi finals. On one had there were Mario and Emanuel who both play what I  call purist billiard as compared to Jason and Shaun who due to their incredible snooker ability tend to depend more on potting the red.

If I were to say that in Mario and Emanuel's game the lead changed hands every single turn would not be too far from the truth. Although there were a few spells where one was ahead of the other by 10 or 15 points... for almost the entire game the difference between these two heavy weights was mostly in the single digits. Incredibly it continued this way until the final turn of the game. Unfortunately one of them had to lose.  In his final turn, Mario missed a sitter with the red literally hanging in the pocked which would have won the game for him. Emanuel took advantage of Mario's miss to close out this intense game.

In the other match Jason, unlike in his snooker semi final, brought his A game and was never threatened by Shaun winning the match with relative ease.
