20-May-2010  |  Jason makes it 6!

"The tension was so thick you could cut it with a knife."  That would be the best way I could describe the opening frames of the Premier League Snooker final. This was the case during the first 4 frames as both players were visibly nervous. Tied at 2-2, Jason Vassallo's experience took over and when the dust settled the final score was an inevitable 7-2 win for Jason. There is no ...

19-May-2010  |  Leo Apap does the double!

Leo Apap beat Adrian Borg 4-1 to complete his first double having already won the pool tournament. Unlike the pool final, Leo dominated from start to finish. Hats off to Adrian who had a great season making it to the 2nd division final in his first year after being promoted from the 3rd division. Congratulations to Leo! Now we wait in anticipation for the premier league snooker final scheduled ...

18-May-2010  |  Daniel wins 1st Division final

Daniel Bowker beat Jason Portelli 5-3 in a very action packed final. Both players came out firing and there was very little defense to be seen. The lead changed hands several times during every frame but in the end Daniel prevailed. Both players have a very aggressive style which makes the games very exciting to watch and they are both excellent potters. There was very little that separated ...

17-May-2010  |  Jason wins billiard final

Jason Vassallo beat Emanuel Grech 600-492 to lift the billiards league trophy. Although you could see the effect of nervousness during the early stages of the game from both players, this match was never in doubt. Once both players settled down and started to play, it was Jason who took and maintained the lead throughout the match. While Emanuel tried his best to catch Jason he could never quite ...

12-May-2010  |  Shaun Attard winds 3rd dvivion

Shaun Attard beat Ian Bonnici 4-2 to win the 3rd division snooker championship. Shaun will now be promoted to the 2nd division. We would like to congratulate Shaun who worked very hard and improved his game over the season.

11-May-2010  |  Christian wins the plate division.

Christian Spiteri beat George Gauci in a tightly contested match. At first it looked like Christian was going to run away with it going ahead 2 frames to 0 but George battled back and won the 3rd frame to make it 2-1. After going down 3-1 George made his final push to make it 3-2 but Christian held on and won it 4-2.

10-May-2010  |  Leo wins pool final

Leo Apap beat Joshua Zammit 7-6 in what was a very closely contested match. Leo can now do "the double" by winning the 2nd division snooker final against Adrian Borg next Wednesday.

08-May-2010  |  3rd and 4th place

Chris Muscat beat Joseph Grech 3-1 to take 3rd place in the 2nd division snooker league. Chris also has the highest break. In 3rd division snooker Anthony Scicluna beat Elliot Fenech 3-1 to clinch 3rd place.

07-May-2010  |  Emanuel and Jason in billiards final

It was a tale of 2 totally different semi finals. On one had there were Mario and Emanuel who both play what I  call purist billiard as compared to Jason and Shaun who due to their incredible snooker ability tend to depend more on potting the red. If I were to say that in Mario and Emanuel's game the lead changed hands every single turn would not be too far from the truth. Although ...

06-May-2010  |  Jason Vassallo Squeezes

On one of those rare nights where the Champion had an off night, the challenger Simon Vella almost pulled off the upset of the season pushing Jason to the full 11 frames. During the final 6 frames Jason was all over the place struggling to stay in the game while Simon was much more consistent. With the game and the entire season hanging by a thread Jason with his usual nerves of steel ...

04-May-2010  |  Shaun and Daniel win

Shaun Sultana won the first two frames today to beat Mario Apap and make his way to the snooker premier final. We now wait to see who the victor will be between Jason Vassallo and Simon Vella. In snooker 1st division Daniel Bowker made quick work winning the first frame of the second session to beat Keith Vella Muscat 5-0 in a sweep. This sets up a mouthwatering final between Daniel and Jason ...

03-May-2010  |  Jason Portelli is the comeback kid!

The semi final between Sean P. Caruana and Jason Portelli turned into one of the best comeback stories of the year. After trailing 2-0 Jason came back to tie the match 2-2 at the end of the first session. Sean started the 2nd session by winning the first frame but Jason did not fold under the pressure and instead fought back with a vengeance to win the next 3 frames and close off the match ...
